Do you have problems with falling or staying asleep at night? Do you snore at night? Do you need to take a nap during the afternoon to get through the day? Is your blood-pressure high? Are you experiencing attention and memory problems? If so, the cause might be traced back to the quality of your sleep.
About 20 percent of the U.S. population suffer from various types of sleep disorders. In case of seniors, especially those who are overweight, the percentage is dramatically higher, often leading to serious health problems.
In this presentation, Priscilla Sarinas, MD, a Sleep Medicine Specialist at the Palo Alto Medical Foundation (PAMF), will discuss the need for quality sleep in the “Golden Years.” She will examine changes with aging, various sleep disorders (insomnia, sleep apnea, leg movements, etc.), effects of selected medical illnesses and medications, possible recommended treatments, and behavioral and lifestyle changes. A Q&A session will conclude the talk.
Reservations are required by no later than 5:00 PM, Wednesday, June 6. However, seating is limited and reservations will be accepted on a first come first served basis. Please make your reservations early.
